Yellow warning of rain for York and North Yorkshire

A typical Met office snow warning map

Well, here’s some cheery news. The snow has actually stopped in York – but heavy rain is forecast.

There’s a yellow warning for rain issued by the Met Office between 6pm today and midday on Thursday.

“Heavy rain, with some snow melt at first, probably leading to some flooding and travel disruption,” is the warning, which covers both York and North Yorkshire.

It comes as the River Ouse in York is well below flood levels at 1.58m. But it is set to start slowly climbing tomorrow (Wednesday).

Here’s the weather forecast for the York.
