Weekly update, 27 May 2022: 122 coronavirus cases reported in York

Another 122 coronavirus cases were reported in York this week (seven days to Friday, 27 May).

That takes the cumulative case total to 65,750 – giving an overall infection rate of 31,159.4 cases per 100,000 people.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 79.1 new cases per 100,000 people (167 cases). It was 89.6 last week.

The English national average is 75.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 67.4.

There has been one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (no change). The total number of deaths in the city is 491 (up four on last week).

There have been six coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the last week.

That takes the total to 950 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were 69 Covid patients in York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals) yesterday (Thursday, 26 May) – down nine on the week before. None is in the intensive care unit – no change.
