Wednesday update: Two more coronavirus deaths in York NHS Trust

Another 127 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 19 July) – and there were two more deaths in the NHS Trust.

In terms of cases, that takes the cumulative total to 16,535 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,850.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 960 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 27 (2.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 506.1 new cases per 100,000 people (1,066 cases in the week to 17 July). That’s up from 410.2 in the previous seven days (864 cases in the week to 10 July).

The English national average is 510.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 621.1.

There has been one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 21 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 465 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 40,451 – an infection rate of 6,544.9 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,392 cases in Ryedale (up 32) – case rate 296.1 per 100K
  • 6,831 in Selby (up 65) – 496.6
  • 10,553 in Harrogate (up 101) – 498.7
  • 5,857 in Hambleton (up 89) – 660.5
  • 7,295 in Scarborough (up 87) – 611.5
  • 3,643 in Richmondshire (up 47) – 640.2
  • 3,880 in Craven (up 44) – 656.3.

There were two coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 601 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 11 July, and 24 in the previous seven days (up 11).
