Wednesday update: Two areas of York have more than 90 coronavirus cases

A further 123 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 2 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 25,777 – giving an overall infection rate of 12,215.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 905 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down eight (-0.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 436.9 new cases per 100,000 people (922 cases in the week to 30 October). That’s down from 439.8 in the previous seven days (928 cases in the week to 23 October).

The English national average is 415.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 420.8.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 3 November).

In North Yorkshire, there were 389 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 75,828 – an infection rate of 12,218.3 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 5,236 cases in Ryedale (up 33) – 497.9 case rate per 100K
  • 12,232 in Selby (up 70) – 471.1
  • 21,216 in Harrogate (up 114) – 553.4
  • 10,447 in Hambleton (up 45) – 474.3
  • 13,615 in Scarborough (up 65) – 515.9
  • 6,041 in Richmondshire (up 23) – 428.1
  • 7,041 in Craven (up 39) – 483.1.

There were two coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 684 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were ten coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 24 October, and 76 patients in hospital on 26 October.
