Wednesday update: No area of York has more than 18 coronavirus cases

A further 28 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 10 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,463 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,442.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 248 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 111 (-30.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 134.4 new cases per 100,000 people (283 cases in the week to 6 February). That’s down from 179.5 in the previous seven days (378 cases in the week to 30 January).

The English national average is 202.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 179.8.

There has been one more coronavirus-related death in the York council area, and 15 in the last seven days (down 15 / 42.3%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 94 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 26,820  – an infection rate of 4,339.4 cases per 100K.

There are 1,689 cases in Ryedale (up 11), 4,332 in Selby (up nine), 6,928 in Harrogate (up 18), 3,841 in Hambleton (up 29), 5,139 in Scarborough (up 16), 2,322 in Richmondshire (up nine) and 2,569 in Craven (up two).

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 533 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
