The rolling seven-day rate in York is 18.5 new cases per 100,000 people (39 cases in the week to 1 May). That’s down from 21.4 in the previous seven days (45 cases in the week to 24 April).
The English national average is 22.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 44.1.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 17 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 29,972 – an infection rate of 4,849.4 cases per 100K.
There are 1,896 cases in Ryedale (up one), 5,103 in Selby (up five), 7,691 in Harrogate (up three), 4,213 in Hambleton (up two), 5,589 in Scarborough (no change), 2,638 in Richmondshire (up two) and 2,842 in Craven (up four).
There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
