Wednesday update: Coronavirus rate in York continues to fall

Another 43 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 4 November).

This takes the cumulative total to 3,925 – giving an overall infection rate of 1,863.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 388 positive Covid-19 tests in York – which is down by 133 (-25.5%).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 184.7 new cases per 100,000 people (389 cases in the week to 31 October). That’s down from 273.0 in the previous seven days (575 cases in the week to 24 October).

At the University of York, there were 78 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Tuesday it has been notified of 13 new cases, included in that figure.

At York St John University there were 21 people self isolating due to a positive test ono Tuesday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 236 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today, taking the cumulative total to 8,854 – an infection rate of 1,432.6 cases per 100K.

There are 476 cases in Ryedale (up 14), 1,394 in Selby (up 42), 2,623 in Harrogate (up 73), 1,226 in Hambleton (up 30), 1,464 in Scarborough (up 41), 733 in Richmondshire (up 10) and 938 in Craven (up 26).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 234. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
