Wednesday update: Another nine coronavirus deaths in York NHS trust hospitals

Another 87 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 20 April).

That takes the cumulative case total to 64,257 – giving an overall infection rate of 30,451.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 648 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 193 (-22.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 349.3 new cases per 100,000 people (737 cases). It was 356.9 yesterday.

The English national average is 300, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 294.3.

There have been two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (down five). The total number of deaths in the city is 472.
