Wednesday update: Another 318 coronavirus cases confirmed in York

A further 318 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 19 January).

That takes the cumulative case total to 44,163 – giving an overall infection rate of 20,929.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 1,851 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 1,226 (-39.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 853 new cases per 100,000 people (1,800 cases in the week to 15 January).

The English national average is 986.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 1,146.6.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 19 January).
