Wednesday update: 86 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York

A further 86 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 22 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,592 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,232.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 441 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 45 (11.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 169.7 new cases per 100,000 people (358 cases in the week to 17 September). That’s down from 205.7 in the previous seven days (434 cases in the week to 11 September).

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 22 September).

In North Yorkshire, there were 387 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 57,381 – an infection rate of 9,245.9 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 3,748 cases in Ryedale (up 30) – 203.1 case rate per 100K
  • 9,512 in Selby (up 58) – 253
  • 15,309 in Harrogate (up 96) – 291.6
  • 8,071 in Hambleton (up 76) – 239.3
  • 10,465 in Scarborough (up 69) – 322.8
  • 4,931 in Richmondshire (up 30) – 206.6
  • 5,345 in Craven (up 28) – 230.2.

There were three coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 648 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 12 September, and 42 in the previous seven days (no change).
