Tuesday update: More than 500 new coronavirus cases in York and North Yorkshire

Another 127 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 13 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 15,383 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,303.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 884 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 42 (5.0%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 415.4 new cases per 100,000 people (875 cases in the week to 9 July). That’s up from 406.4 in the previous seven days (856 cases in the week to 2 July).

The English national average is 328.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 434.3.

As of Friday 9 July, the University of York had 110 individuals who were currently self-isolating because they have had a positive Covid-19 test (down from 240 the week before).

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 13 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 381 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 36,405 – an infection rate of 5,890.3 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,192 cases in Ryedale (up 17) – case rate 155.3 per 100K
  • 6,274 in Selby (up 52) – 367.5
  • 9,592 in Harrogate (up 76) – 394.2
  • 5,152 in Hambleton (up 69) – 394.1
  • 6,511 in Scarborough (up 87) – 268.5
  • 3,238 in Richmondshire (up 31) – 342.5
  • 3,446 in Craven (up 49) – 253.8.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 594 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 5 July.

There were six coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 4 July, and 13 in the previous seven days (up six).
