Tuesday update: Just one more coronavirus case confirmed in York

Just one more coronavirus case was confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 11 May).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,321 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,849.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 35 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up two (6.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 15.7 new cases per 100,000 people (33 cases in the week to 7 May). That’s up from 19.9 in the previous seven days (42 cases in the week to 30 April).

The English national average is 21.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 40.1.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 15 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,081  – an infection rate of 4,867.1 cases per 100K.

There are 1,899 cases in Ryedale (up one), 5,158 in Selby (up five), 7,712 in Harrogate (up three), 4,221 in Hambleton (up two), 5,598 in Scarborough (no change), 2,647 in Richmondshire (up three) and 2,846 in Craven (up one).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
