Tuesday update: Another coronavirus death at the York NHS Trust

Another 21 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 15 June) – and one more death at the NHS Trust.

That takes the cumulative case total to 12,649 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,005.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 155 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 85 (121.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 62.7 new cases per 100,000 people (132 cases in the week to 11 June). That’s up from 29.4 in the previous seven days (62 cases in the week to 4 June).

The English national average is 69.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 77.1.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (as at 15 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 47 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,781 – an infection rate of 4,972.7 cases per 100K.

There are 1,921 cases in Ryedale (up eight), 5,354 in Selby (up ten), 7,922 in Harrogate (up ten), 4,299 in Hambleton (up five), 5,673 in Scarborough (up five), 2,689 in Richmondshire (up five) and 2,923 in Craven (up four).

There was one coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today, the first since 3 June.

That takes the total to 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were no coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 6 June, and two in the previous seven days.
