It takes the cumulative total to 6,890. The overall infection rate is not available today.

In the last seven days there have been 617 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 289 (88.1%) week on week.

There’s a coronavirus rate in York of 240.2 per 100,000 people in the seven days to 24 December.

In North Yorkshire, there were 258 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 16,854. The infection rate is not available today.

There are 979 cases in Ryedale (up 22), 2,662 in Selby (up 48), 4,258 in Harrogate (up 47), 2,211 in Hambleton (up 33), 3,819 in Scarborough (up 47), 1,307 in Richmondshire (up 39) and 1,618 in Craven (up 22).

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 366 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
