Thursday update: York’s reported coronavirus rate drops to 90

Another 23 coronavirus cases were reported in York today (Thursday, 19 May).

That takes the cumulative case total to 65,603 – giving an overall infection rate of 31,089.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 191 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 331 (-63.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 90 new cases per 100,000 people (190 cases). It was 93.2 yesterday.

The English national average is 86.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 80.8.

There have been two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (down 13). The total number of deaths in the city is 487.
