Thursday update: York positive coronavirus tests drop by more than a third in a week
Another three coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 1 April).
It takes the cumulative total to 12,201 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,793 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 41 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 25 (-37.9%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 29.0 new cases per 100,000 people (61 cases in the week to 28 March). That’s down from 30.9 in the previous seven days (65 cases in the week to 21 March).
The English national average is 54.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 111.1.
There was one more coronavirus-related death in the York council area today, and one in the last seven days (down one / -50%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 46 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 29,279 – an infection rate of 4,737.3 cases per 100K.
There are 1,858 cases in Ryedale (up one), 4,835 in Selby (up 11), 7,583 in Harrogate (up two), 4,175 in Hambleton (up eight), 5,477 in Scarborough (up 17), 2,591 in Richmondshire (up one) and 2,760 in Craven (up six).
There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. There have been no new deaths in the trust since Friday, 19 March.
That leaves the total at 583 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
