Thursday update: York coronavirus case rate rises to 326

A further 133 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 1 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 13,936 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,616.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 797 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 374 (88.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 326.2 new cases per 100,000 people (687 cases in the week to 27 June). That’s up from 145.3 in the previous seven days (306 cases in the week to 20 June).

The English national average is 160.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 197.6.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 1 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 284 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 32,897 – an infection rate of 5,322.7 cases per 100K.

There are

  • 2,034 cases in Ryedale (up 21) – case rate 83.1 per 100K
  • 5,732 in Selby (up 33) – 163.3
  • 8,545 in Harrogate (up 98) – 156.1
  • 4,527 in Hambleton (up 40) – 100.4
  • 5,965 in Scarborough (up 44) – 163.3
  • 2,932 in Richmondshire (up 33) – 199.1
  • 3,162 in Craven (up 15) – 169.8.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 15 June.

There were no coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 27 June, and seven in the previous seven days (up one).
