Thursday update: Three new coronavirus cases in York, 13 in Selby

There were three more coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Thursday, 29 April).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,264 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,822.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 47 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up four (9.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 23.3 new cases per 100,000 people (49 cases in the week to 25 April). That’s up from 15.2 in the previous seven days (32 cases in the week to 18 April).

The English national average is 24.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 45.9.

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area today.

In North Yorkshire, there were 25 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 29,867  – an infection rate of 4,832.4 cases per 100K.

There are 1,886 cases in Ryedale (up one), 5,070 in Selby (up 13), 7,668 in Harrogate (up three), 4,205 in Hambleton (up five), 5,581 in Scarborough (up three), 2,628 in Richmondshire (no change) and 2,829 in Craven (no change).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
