Thursday update: Number of Covid patients in hospital goes up

Another 74 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 7 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 22,667 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,742 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 470 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 39 (7.7%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 234.6 new cases per 100,000 people. The English national average is 332.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 410.5.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 7 October).

In North Yorkshire, there were 484 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 63,572 – an infection rate of 10,243.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 10,415 in Selby (up 55) – 421
  • 17,374 in Harrogate (up 169) – 532.4
  • 8,895 in Hambleton (up 49) – 446
  • 11,602 in Scarborough (up 97) – 472.7
  • 5,282 in Richmondshire (up 20) – 281
  • 5,898 in Craven (up 63) – 388.9.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 656 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 3 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (up seven).
