Thursday update: No area of York has more than six coronavirus cases

A further 13 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 25 March).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,160 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,773.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 66 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up one (1.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 30.9 new cases per 100,000 people (65 cases in the week to 21 March). That’s down from 38.5 in the previous seven days (81 cases in the week to 14 March).

The English national average is 55.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 109.1.

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area today, and two in the last seven days (no change).

In North Yorkshire, there were 74 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 29,082  – an infection rate of 4,705.4 cases per 100K.

There are 1,853 cases in Ryedale (up five), 4,766 in Selby (up 20), 7,563 in Harrogate (up 14), 4,156 in Hambleton (up seven), 5,437 in Scarborough (up 20), 2,581 in Richmondshire (up two) and 2,726 in Craven (up six).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 583 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
