Thursday update: Five coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another five coronavirus case were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 13 May).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,334 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,856.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 37 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up four (12.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 18.0 new cases per 100,000 people (38 cases in the week to 9 May). That’s up from 17.6 in the previous seven days (37 cases in the week to 2 May).

The English national average is 22.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 39.8.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 18 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,126  – an infection rate of 4,874.3 cases per 100K.

There are 1,899 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,176 in Selby (up eight), 7,724 in Harrogate (up five), 4,225 in Hambleton (up two), 5,606 in Scarborough (up three), 2,648 in Richmondshire (no change) and 2,848 in Craven (no change).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
