Thursday update: Another coronavirus death recorded in York

Another 146 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 15 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 15,721 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,464.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 936 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 87 (10.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 408.8 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 350.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 463.4.

As of Friday 9 July, the University of York had 110 individuals who were currently self-isolating because they have had a positive Covid-19 test (down from 240 the week before).

There has been one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 15 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 506 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 37,373 – an infection rate of 6,046.9 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,246 cases in Ryedale (up 30) – case rate 167.9 per 100K
  • 6,394 in Selby (up 65) – 367.5
  • 9,838 in Harrogate (up 127) – 415.3
  • 5,317 in Hambleton (up 81) – 454.2
  • 6,691 in Scarborough (up 100) – 326.4
  • 3,337 in Richmondshire (up 50) – 370.4
  • 3,550 in Craven (up 53) – 252.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 594 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 5 July.

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 11 July, and 24 in the previous seven days (up 11).
