Thursday update: 51 more coronavirus cases confirmed in York

A further 51 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 16 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,202 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,047.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 381 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 117 (-23.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 203.3 new cases per 100,000 people (429 cases in the week to 12 September). That’s down from 256.4 in the previous seven days (541 cases in the week to 5 September).

The English national average is 297.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 351.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 16 September).

  • 14,790 in Harrogate (up 82) – 388.7
  • 7,790 in Hambleton (up 31) – 236
  • 10,138 in Scarborough (up 53) – 381.7
  • 4,828 in Richmondshire (up 21) – 299.6
  • 5,192 in Craven (up 11) – 242.4.

There was one coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 643 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 12 September, and 42 in the previous seven days (no change).
