Thursday update: 419 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire
Another 87 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 2 September).
That takes the cumulative case total to 20,323 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,631.2 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 575 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 36 (-5.9%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 262.5 new cases per 100,000 people (554 cases in the week to 29 August). That’s down from 313.7 in the previous seven days (662 cases in the week to 22 August).
The English national average is 308, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 347.5.
There was one coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 2 September).
