Thursday update: 17 more coronavirus cases in York
There were another 17 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Thursday, 3 December).
That takes the cumulative total to 5,695 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,703.9 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 119 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 112 (48.5%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 68.4 new cases per 100,000 people (144 cases in the week to 29 November). That’s down from 126.8 in the previous seven days (267 cases in the week to 22 November).
At the University of York, there were 36 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Monday it has been notified of three new cases.
At York St John University, there were two people self isolating due to a positive test on Wednesday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 107 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 13,576 – an infection rate of 2,196.6 cases per 100K.
There are 744 cases in Ryedale (up five), 2,151 in Selby (up 20), 3,635 in Harrogate (up 45), 1,741 in Hambleton (up 11), 2,960 in Scarborough (up 33), 1,003 in Richmondshire (up eight) and 1,342 in Craven (up 10).
There were two more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. We don’t know whether they were at York Hospital or Scarborough.
It takes the total to 309.
