Sunday update: York coronavirus rate drops to 66 cases per 100K

Another 29 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 21 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,721 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,565.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 149 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 42 (-22%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 66 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 128.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 150.4.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 15 in the last seven days (up one / 7.1%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 79 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 27,675  – an infection rate of 4,477.8 cases per 100K.

There are 1,762 cases in Ryedale (up nine), 4,485 in Selby (up 14), 7,178 in Harrogate (up 17), 3,959 in Hambleton (up nine), 5,242 in Scarborough (up nine), 2,420 in Richmondshire (up 16) and 2,629 in Craven (up five).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That leaves the total at 565 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
