Sunday update: York coronavirus rate back above 200

A further 56 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 26 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,876 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,367.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 502 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 124 (32.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 215.6 new cases per 100,000 people (455 cases).

The English national average is 302.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 372.1.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 26 September).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 19 September, and 40 in the previous seven days (down two).
