Sunday update: Just four new coronavirus cases in York

Just four coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 14 March).

It takes the cumulative total to 12,052 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,722.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 93 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 13 (-12.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 52.7 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 58.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 101.8.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and two in the last seven days (no change).

In North Yorkshire, there were 34 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 28,627  – an infection rate of 4,631.8 cases per 100K.

There are 1,821 cases in Ryedale (up two), 4,656 in Selby (up seven), 7,440 in Harrogate (up seven), 4,110 in Hambleton (up three), 5,362 in Scarborough (up four), 2,540 in Richmondshire (up seven) and 2,698 in Craven (up four).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. It is the fifth day in a row that there have been no Covid deaths.

That leaves the total at 580 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
