Saturday update: One coronavirus death confirmed in York

A further 53 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 11 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 20,947 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,926.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last a days 480 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 66 (-12.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 257.3 new cases per 100,000 people (543 cases).

The English national average is 352.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 402.9.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 11 September).
