Saturday update: Five areas of York have 50 or more coronavirus cases

Another 115 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 3 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 14,149 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,717.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 830 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 317 (61.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 361.3 new cases per 100,000 people (761 cases in the week to 29 June).

The English national average is 191.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 240.2.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 3 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 224 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 33,337 – an infection rate of 5,393.9 cases per 100K.

There are

  • 2,059 cases in Ryedale (up eight) – case rate 115.6 per 100K
  • 5,787 in Selby (up 31) – 184.3
  • 8,702 in Harrogate (up 87) – 202.1
  • 4,607 in Hambleton (up 37) – 146.3
  • 6,016 in Scarborough (up 20) – 189.4
  • 2,966 in Richmondshire (up 19) – 221.5
  • 3,200 in Craven (up 22) – 224.

NHS England doesn’t issue updates for deaths in hospital on weekends.

There were no coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 27 June, and seven in the previous seven days (up one).
