Saturday update: Coronavirus cases on the rise in ten areas of York

Another 64 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 25 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,820 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,340.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 498 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 123 (32.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 197.1 new cases per 100,000 people (416 cases).

The English national average is 289.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 348.2.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 25 September).

In North Yorkshire, there were 414 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 58,717 – an infection rate of 9,461.2 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 3,835 cases in Ryedale (up 22) – 242.7 case rate per 100K
  • 9,741 in Selby (up 77) – 322.8
  • 15,740 in Harrogate (up 143) – 377
  • 8,241 in Hambleton (up 49) – 263.2
  • 10,707 in Scarborough (up 71) – 350.4
  • 5,002 in Richmondshire (up 17) – 238.2
  • 5,451 in Craven (up 35) – 282.5.

At weekends, the NHS doesn’t release the number of coronavirus-related deaths at individual hospital trusts.

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 19 September, and 40 in the previous seven days (down two).
