Saturday update: Coronavirus cases fall by 5% week on week in York

Another 117 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 14 August).

That takes the cumulative case total to 18,656 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,841.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 662 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 36 (-5.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 343.1 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 305.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 380.4.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 14 August).

In North Yorkshire, there were 256 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 46,382 – an infection rate of 7,473.6 cases per 100K.

At weekends, the NHS doesn’t report coronavirus deaths in hospital trusts.

There was one coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 8 August, and 18 in the previous seven days (down 11).
