Saturday update: 39 more coronavirus cases in York

Another 39 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 6 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,345 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,386.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 298 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 130 (-30.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 173.3 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 244.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 196.4.

There have been five more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 21 in the last seven days (down nine / 30%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 129 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 26,455  – an infection rate of 4,280.4 cases per 100K.

There are 1,656 cases in Ryedale (up 14), 4,266 in Selby (up 19), 6,849 in Harrogate (up 37), 3,753 in Hambleton (up 19), 5,086 in Scarborough (up 19), 2,292 in Richmondshire (up 9) and 2,553 in Craven (up 12).

There were seven more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 525 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
