Following on from the suspension of the Premier League and English Football League, the FA finally axed grassroots football today.
The National League is suspended until at least 3 April.
That means York City’s campaign for promotion from National League North is put on hold for now.
In a statement the club said:
Furthermore, North Riding FA have postponed the Senior Cup Semi Final fixture due to be played against Thornaby until further notice.
We will keep fans updated as and when the club hears further information.
This is bigger than football. Take care everyone.
Similarly the Rugby Football League has suspended fixtures till at least 3 April.
That means no more Championship rugby from York City Knights.
