The A1M is closed in North Yorkshire after a collision involving an overturned lorry.
The crash comes as the police reported “numerous calls involving high sided vehicles” as Storm Otto hits the county.
The motorway is shut northbound between J51 at Leeming and J52 to Catterick.
National Highways Yorkshire also says lane 1 (of 3) is closed southbound due to crash. They said: “Please take care on approach, thank you for your patience.”
Here are the diversions:
Road users are advised to follow the Hollow Circle diversion symbol on road signs.
- Exit the A1(M) at the J51 northbound exit slip road.
- Proceed along the A6055 for approximately 6 miles, to the next roundabout.
- Take the second exit onto the A6055 (signed ‘A1(M), Brompton-on-Swale, A6055, Colburn, Catterick Garrison, Richmond, A6136) and proceed to the next roundabout.
- At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A1(M) (signed ‘The NORTH A1(M)’). and re-join the A1(M) northbound at J52.
