Monday update: York coronavirus rate goes back above 300

A further 93 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 18 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 23,705 – giving an overall infection rate of 11,234 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 705 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 155 (28.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 313.7 new cases per 100,000 people (662 cases in the week to 14 October). That’s up from 238.8 in the previous seven days (504 cases in the week to 7 October).

The English national average is 424, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 488.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 18 October).

There were three coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 665 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were two coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 10 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (no change).
