Monday update: Six areas of York have 50+ coronavirus cases

A further 107 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 8 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 26,354 – giving an overall infection rate of 12,489.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 801 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 137 (14.6%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 424.6 new cases per 100,000 people (896 cases in the week to 4 November).

The English national average is 386.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 404.5.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 8 November).

In North Yorkshire, there were 308 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 77,678 – an infection rate of 12,516.4 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 5,391 cases in Ryedale (up 20) – 503.3 case rate per 100K
  • 12,530 in Selby (up 58) – 478.8
  • 21,752 in Harrogate (up 82) – 590.5
  • 10,667 in Hambleton (up 38) – 400.3
  • 13,992 in Scarborough (up 65) – 485.6
  • 6,159 in Richmondshire (up 19) – 428.1
  • 7,187 in Craven (up 26) – 409.9.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 686 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 31 October, and 78 patients in hospital on 2 November.
