Monday update: Four areas of York now have next to no coronavirus cases

A further 28 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 22 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,749 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,578.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 165 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 13 (-7.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 67.9 new cases per 100,000 people (143 cases in the week to 18 February). That’s down from 93.5 in the previous seven days (197 cases in the week to 11 February).

The English national average is 125.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 151.3.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 12 in the last seven days (down three / -20%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 81 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 27,756  – an infection rate of 4,490.9 cases per 100K.

There are 1,768 cases in Ryedale (up six), 4,507 in Selby (up 22), 7,195 in Harrogate (up 17), 3,970 in Hambleton (up 11), 5,250 in Scarborough (up eight), 2,432 in Richmondshire (up 12) and 2,634 in Craven (up five).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for the second day running.

That leaves the total at 565 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
