Monday update: Five coronavirus deaths in York in the last seven days

Another 720 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 28 March) – including all those since the last update on Friday.

That takes the cumulative case total to 61,029 – giving an overall infection rate of 28,922.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 2,003 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 136 (7.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 977.7 new cases per 100,000 people (2,063 cases in the week to 24 March). It was 894.3 on Friday.

The English national average is 880, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 730.2.

There have been five coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up three). The total number of deaths in the city is 459.
