Monday update: Coronavirus case rate in one area of York tops 500
Another 100 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 6 September).
That takes the cumulative case total to 20,609 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,766.7 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 512 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 53 (-9.4%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 264.0 new cases per 100,000 people (557 cases in the week to 2 September). That’s down from 271.1 in the previous seven days (572 cases in the week to 26 August).
The English national average is 309.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 356.9.
There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 6 September).

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today, or at the weekend.
That leaves the total at 633 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 29 August, and 31 in the previous seven days (down 12).
