Monday update: Another coronavirus death at York NHS Trust as rate tops 300
Another 106 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 9 August).
That takes the cumulative case total to 18,173 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,612.3 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 729 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 192 (35.8%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 320.0 new cases per 100,000 people (674 cases in the week to 5 August). That’s up from 247.4 in the previous seven days (521 cases in the week to 29 July).
The English national average is 286.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 368.3.
There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 9 August).
