Monday update: 83 more coronavirus cases in York – but number of positive tests goes down

Another 83 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 26 October).

That takes the cumulative total to 3,397 – giving an overall infection rate of 1,612.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 624 positive Covid-19 tests in York – which is down by 54 (-8.0%).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 294.8 new cases per 100,000 people (621 cases in the week to 22 October). That’s up from 293.9 in the previous seven days (619 cases in the week to 15 October).

At the University of York, there were 157 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test on Monday. For the period Friday 23 October to Sunday 25 October it has been notified of 35 new cases, included in that figure.

At York St John University there were 37 people self isolating due to a positive test on Monday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 174 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today, taking the cumulative total to 7,047 – an infection rate of 1,140.2 cases per 100K.

There are 384 cases in Ryedale (up seven), 1,092 in Selby (up 29), 2,049 in Harrogate (up 60), 950 in Hambleton (up 45), 1,184 in Scarborough (up 13), 611 in Richmondshire (up 11) and 777 in Craven (up nine).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 227. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
