Monday update: 571 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

Another 77 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 11 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 23,000 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,899.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 550 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 50 (10%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 238.4 new cases per 100,000 people (503 cases in the week to 7 October). That’s down from 239.8 in the previous seven days (506 cases in the week to 30 September).

The English national average is 347.8, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 419.6.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 11 October).

In North Yorkshire, there were 494 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 65,285 – an infection rate of 10,519.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 4,245 cases in Ryedale (up 36) – 320 case rate per 100K
  • 10,694 in Selby (up 65) – 451.5
  • 17,976 in Harrogate (up 191) – 587.5
  • 9,072 in Hambleton (up 61) – 332.9
  • 11,873 in Scarborough (up 75) – 460.7
  • 5,372 in Richmondshire (up 22) – 253.1
  • 6,053 in Craven (up 44) – 486.6.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 656 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 3 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (up seven).
