Monday update: 438 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

A further 78 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 20 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 21,374 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,129.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 379 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 85 (-18.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 173.4 new cases per 100,000 people (366 cases).

The English national average is 259.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 300.1.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 20 September).

In North Yorkshire, there were 360 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 56,708 – an infection rate of 9,079.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 3,700 cases in Ryedale (up 29) – 208.5 case rate per 100K
  • 9,402 in Selby (up 39) – 227.9
  • 15,122 in Harrogate (up 129) – 283.5
  • 7,963 in Hambleton (up 61) – 213.2
  • 10,348 in Scarborough (up 69) – 348.5
  • 4,886 in Richmondshire (up 11) – 217.7
  • 5,287 in Craven (up 22) – 228.5.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 643 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 12 September, and 42 in the previous seven days (no change).
