Monday update: 107 new coronavirus cases in York
Another 107 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 19 July).
That takes the cumulative case total to 16,286 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,732.5 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 1,030 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 177 (20.8%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 474.8 new cases per 100,000 people (1,000 cases in the week to 15 July). That’s up from 414.0 in the previous seven days (359 cases in the week to 8 July).
The English national average is 426.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 536.5.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 19 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 446 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 39,553 – an infection rate of 6,399.6 cases per 100K.
There are:
- 2,346 cases in Ryedale (up 27) – case rate 247.4 per 100K
- 6,695 in Selby (up 55) – 410.5
- 10,334 in Harrogate (up 103) – 436.5
- 5,691 in Hambleton (up 62) – 552.4
- 7,116 in Scarborough (up 92) – 514
- 3,566 in Richmondshire (up 51) – 577
- 3,805 in Craven (up 56) – 491.8.
There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today, or at the weekend.
That leaves the total at 596 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last reported death was on 16 July.
There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 11 July, and 24 in the previous seven days (up 11).
