Last night North Yorkshire Police were involved in the pursuit of a dangerous driver which finished like this near York.
Sgt Paul Cording revealed on his Twitter account that he was alerted by Durham Police to a driver wanted for an offence.
Sgt Cording said the drive “clearly didn’t want to stop and drove dangerously from the A1M to York when he was prevented from going any further”.
The car was stopped on Station Road in Upper Poppleton using what police call “tactical pursuit and containment” tactics.
The driver was arrested for taking without consent, dangerous driving, failing to stop, affray and trespassing on a railway “to name but a few”.
Sgt Cording said his car was damaged in the operation to stop the driver, “but was driveable”.
