Significant delays have hit the East Coast Main Line thanks to Storm Otto this morning.

LNER said it is expecting ‘major disruption’ from York northwards.

The company said: “Severe weather between York and Edinburgh means no electric trains are able to run between these stations. Other services may be affected by speed restrictions.

“Disruption is expected until 3pm.

“Rail replacement buses have been requested. We will provide further information once more is known.”
