Here are the first pictures of the King and Queen Consort as they left York Minster following the Maundy Service.

Happily, the weather was still holding as the King, dressed in black tails, and Queen Camilla in a navy suit with matching hat, waved to the crowds.

They were accompanied by the Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, the Dean of York Dominic Barrington, children and Yeoman Warders, better known as Beefeaters, on the steps of the Minster.

The children, King and Queen were all carrying floral bouquets.
