One of York’s plushest hotels has announced it is closing for the duration.

Middlethorpe Hall Hotel & Spa will close on Sunday (22 March) at 6pm.

In a message to guests posted on social media, the team at the National Trust-owned hotel said:

  • It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Middlethorpe Hall Hotel & Spa until further notice from 18.00 on Sunday 22nd March.

We have made this decision as part of the national fight against the COVID 19 pandemic, in line with advice from British Government, the World Health Organisation, the policy of the National Trust and our Historic House Hotels partners. The safety of our visitors and staff is our main priority.

During the period of closure we shall keep in touch with our guests, and, of course, we really look forward to reopening and welcoming you back.

We greatly value the loyalty and support of our guests, so many of long-standing, during this unprecedented time.

The unexpired period of member subscriptions for the Spa will be frozen until it reopens.
