A66 re-opens in both directions

The A66, which was closed as a precaution at midnight, is now back open.

Here’s the details from Highways England…

The #A66 is now OPEN in both directions between the #M6 J40 (#Penrith / #Cumbria) and J53 of the #A1M (#ScotchCorner / #CountyDurham). This follows the earlier closure due to strong winds.
